  • Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi :- This town in Mathura is renowned for housing the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple. The temple is situated at the location where Lord Krishna was born thousands of years ago. According to some historians, Lord Krishna was born in a prison cell in the temple premises. The prison cell has gradually turned into a beautiful temple which is visited by large number of pilgrims each year during Janmastami.

  • Dwarkadheesh Temple :- This temple is located in the eastern part of Mathura. It was built in 1814 AD by Seth Gokul Das Parikh, who was a great devotee of Krishna. The main shrine embraces Lord Krishna and his consort Radha. The structure of the temple is an example of local art and architecture. Janmastami is the major festival which is celebrated with great enthusiasm in this temple. Besides this, festivals like Holi and Diwali are also celebrated here.

  • Jamma Masjid :- This Jama Masjid is not to be confused with the Jama Masjid at Delhi. It was built by Nabir Khan in 1661 A.D.

  • Vishram Ghat :- It is a bathing ghat cum worship place on the banks of River Yamuna where Lord Krishna is believed to have rested after killing his maternal Uncle Kangsa.

  • Archaeological Museum :- This museum exhibits rare collections from the Kushana and Gupta Period. In this museum some exclusive collections of Mathura School of Art can be seen.
